TimeSheet
Professional - Version 9.0 New Features
The following new functionality exists within
TimeSheet Professional V9. These features can be viewed in detail by clicking
on the links below.
Timesheet
Approval Process
TimeSheet Professional now provides an approval process that logins
can use to submit a time sheet to their manager.
- The system administrator can customise approval process steps
as required.
- The system administrator can define the order of the approval
process steps to create the approval process workflow.
Email
Notifications
TimeSheet Professional can send notifications to an employee via
e-mail message using an SMTP server. E-mail notifications can be
used in a number of areas.
- Chasing un-submitted
timesheets.
- Approval process steps
- Payroll exceptions
Microsoft
SQL Server Desktop Engine (MSDE)
TimeSheet Professional v 9.0 now supports connectivity to MSDE databases.
- This process allows the system administrator to create logins, and start or stop the MSDE
service.
Microsoft
Windows Authentication
The system administrator can configure TimeSheet Professional to
use Windows authentication to validate logins.
- This allows logins
to log into TimeSheet Professional using their Windows login name
and password instead of having to enter a separate TimeSheet Professional
login and password.
Starter-Security
Profiles
When the system administrator creates a new database, TimeSheet
Professional now includes four starter-security profiles.
- Each starter-security
profile; Administrator, Payroll Administrator, Supervisor, and Employee
allows a login (assigned the security profile) a different level
of rights in TimeSheet Professional.
- The system administrator can
assign starter-security profiles to logins, edit starter-security
profiles to meet their organisations needs, or create new
security profiles based on the starter-security profiles.
Detail
Reports
TimeSheet Professional now includes a custom category
in the Report type field on the Detail Report List dialog box.
- This
category allows the system administrator to keep custom Crystal
Reports templates in a separate category.
- When generating a report
from the Custom category, the system administrator can use the Custom
Report Select View dialog box to define selection criteria for the
report.
- There are updated Detail report templates included with TimeSheet
Professional.
Summary
Reports
TimeSheet Professional now allows the system administrator to enter
date tokens in the Line 1, Line 2, or Line 3 fields on the Column
Heading dialog box for a Summary report.
- Date tokens ensure that
the dates that print within the column headings on a Summary report
match the dates used within the report.
- The system administrator
can use the <startdate> date token to display the first date
in a range and/or the <finishdate> date token to display the
last date in the range.
Data
Exchange
When configuring the Generic Text Import/Export data-exchange
link to export data, TimeSheet Professional now allows the system
administrator to specify the duration format.
- When configuring the Generic Text Import/Export data-exchange
link, the system administrator can now use replacement characters
within the file name.
- The Generic Text Import/Export data-exchange link can now
export empty fields (null values).
- TimeSheet Professional now allows the system administrator to exchange
data (import or export) in a TimeSheet Interchange format.
Browser
Module
The TimeSheet Professional browser module (server and client)
includes several enhancements to increase simultaneous user capacity
and improved stability under heavy load.
- Several fields have been modified on the Configure Browser dialog
box in the TimeSheet Professional Windows client to provide improved
functionality.
- The About TimeSheet Professional dialog box in the browser
module client now displays configuration information about the current
browser module.
- If you enable the expense add-on module, the data-entry
view toolbar within the browser module now includes the Expense
List View shortcut button. Expense List View opens the Expense List
View in the TimeSheet Professional browser module.
Other
Improved Functionality
- By default, TimeSheet Professional opens to the last date you selected
within a data-entry view. The new Open to today check box allows you to configure TimeSheet Professional to open to todays
date.
- TimeSheet Professional now displays the contents of a note within
a ToolTip when you position the mouse over a note indicator in any
data-entry view.
- Logins
can use the Select View List dialog box to name and save the current
settings in the Select View dialog box as a template.
- TimeSheet Professional allows the system administrator to
remove all licenses from an installation using the Remove licenses
from this installation and add them to another installation field
on the License Manager dialog box.
- TimeSheet Professional now includes a page number in the
upper right-hand corner of the printed document when an employee
prints a time sheet from a data-entry view
- TimeSheet Professional now displays a red marker within
tasks on the Time Sheet View to indicate tasks that contain a note
entry.
- The system administrator can now define as many as 10 task-status
fields for each task.
- The system administrator can use
the Lock Installation dialog box to lock an installation. Uses include restoring a database, installing an upgrade,
or installing a service release. This process
terminates all active logins and grants the system administrator
sole access to the TimeSheet Professional installation.
- TimeSheet Professional now has a new Task has rate check box
on the Task dialog box allows the system administrator to use
any value that he/she enters in the Rate field as the task rate.
This allows the system administrator to create zero value tasks.
Creating tasks that have a 0.00 value allows the system administrator
to create overhead tasks. TimeSheet Professional considers tasks
that your organisation wants to include in a project but not bill
client overhead tasks.
- TimeSheet Professional provides a new monthly pay period that
can be used to spans
from the 16th of the current month to the 15th of the following
month.
- TimeSheet Professional can now reset (unmark) entry-status fields
for entries included in the copy process.
